Let me ask you something simple, When was the last time you actually felt calm?
Not distracted, not overstimulated, not reacting to something. Just… calm?
Tough, right?
Because everywhere you look, there’s noise.
The kind that doesn’t just stay outside, it seeps in. It messes with how you think, how you feel, how you carry yourself, and what you settle for. And as someone who’s been building, breaking, learning, unlearning, and building again, I can tell you this:
Peace isn’t something you “get” in life. You have to choose it. Every day.
But no one teaches you that.
What they do teach you is:
“Stay hungry.”
“Be reachable.”
“Keep hustling.”
“Why are you not replying to messages?”
“Did you see that person’s new milestone? They just IPO’d their startup.”
Cool. Good for them. But what about peace?
Why I Wanted to Write This on Real Life Learnings
I’m Anek, just a regular guy who’s trying to navigate life, business, and self-growth without losing his mind. And over time, I’ve realized that if I don’t learn to stay unbothered, I’ll always be at the mercy of everything around me that is the Real Life Learnings
So this one’s not a playbook.
It’s not a list of 5 hacks to Zen-mode either.
It’s just life lessons I wish someone had told me when I was younger, or at least when I started out.
Let’s dive in?
1. You Don’t Owe Everyone a Reaction
I used to be a reactor.
A client says something passive-aggressive, I react.
A friend takes a subtle jab, I overthink for 3 days.
Someone comments something dumb online, I’m typing a whole essay in my head.
But one day, I asked myself: Why am I letting everything outside me control how I feel inside?
I’ve learned that silence is often the best reply.
Some things just deserve silence… and distance.
I’m not saying ignore your problems. I’m saying learn to pick your battles. Your peace is expensive, spend it wisely.
2. You Are Allowed to Go Slow
Let me be brutally honest, the pressure to “keep up” can eat you alive.
It’s like everyone’s on this invisible treadmill, trying to outrun each other… and half the time, we don’t even know what the race is for.
I’ve felt it too. Watching people scale companies, raise funds, buy homes, get married, post those “big life update” captions…
And there I was, reordering coffee I didn’t finish from yesterday.
But here’s the truth I’ve come to accept:
Life is not a race. It’s a journey, and everyone has a different route.
Go at your pace. Build quietly. Heal privately. Rest if you need.
Your timeline is yours. Don’t let someone else’s brightest moments cast shadows over your own growth.
3. Silence is Underrated
In our world, silence is often mistaken for weakness.
If you’re not loud, you’re ignored. If you’re not speaking up, people think you have nothing to say that is the Real Life Learnings.
But some of the most powerful people I’ve met? They watch quietly.
They don’t rush to respond. They don’t explain themselves every time.
That’s when I realised, silence isn’t weakness. It’s wisdom.
Sometimes, not reacting is the reaction.
And trust me, it speaks volumes.
4. Not Everything Deserves a Front-Row Seat in Your Mind
Think of your mind like a theatre.
Now ask yourself, who are you letting sit in the front row?
Every random tweet, every gossip thread, every unsolicited opinion, every news notification, it all takes up space.
And soon, you’re mentally drained without even knowing why.
Here’s a shift I made:
Whenever something comes my way, I ask:
“Is this helpful to me?”
“Will I care about this in 6 months?”
“Does this make me better, happier, or calmer?”
If it doesn’t add value, it doesn’t get space in my mind.
Protect your energy like it’s gold. Because it is.

5. Learn the Art of Logging Off
I used to be always on. Always reachable. Always replying. Always checking metrics, DMs, news, updates…
And then I burnt out. Hard.
So I started doing something simple: I log off. Literally.
Whether it’s for 2 hours, half a day, or a whole Sunday, I disconnect.
From screens, from socials, from the noise.
And in that silence, I reconnect, with ideas, with creativity, with my own thoughts.
Try it. You’ll be shocked how much clarity comes when you’re not scrolling your life away. Real Life Learnings.
6. Your Inner Circle Is Everything
One of the most underrated parts of staying unbothered?
The people around you.
If your circle is full of drama, competition, and constant negativity, you’ll stay triggered.
But if your people are supportive, grounded, and honest with you without tearing you down, you’ll thrive.
Over the years, I’ve become very selective.
I’d rather have 3 solid humans than 30 noise-makers.
Surround yourself with people who don’t just talk, but listen.
Who helps you remember your worth on the days you don’t.
Who doesn’t make you feel behind for living life at your own speed.
7. Peace is a Daily Practice, Not a Destination
There’s this myth that once you “find peace,” it’s permanent. Like a one-time investment.
But peace is not a destination. It’s a daily decision.
You’ll have days when things get to you. When you react. When you spiral.
It happens. You’re human.
But every day, you get another chance to come back to yourself.
To choose calm. To protect your vibe. To stay unbothered, not because you don’t care, but because you care about the right things.
And that, in my eyes, is real growth.
